Achieved an impressive eight weeks ahead of schedule, Y Suites is Adelaide’s newest student accommodation option, with 813 beds and ground-floor reception and communal facilities.
The building sits 55.4m high on bustling Waymouth Street, walking distance to the city’s popular laneway bars and restaurant scene.
Y Suites has a unique woven texture façade exterior design, that lends itself to Adelaide’s vision of innovation, while sitting comfortably with the heritage buildings in the area.
The ground floor shopfront glazing complements the exposed high set ceilings while at the same time provides exclusive aesthetics from the Waymouth streetscape.
Y Suites is one of three student accommodation buildings also under construction by SYNERGY CONSTRUCT, with the GSA student housing tower and 203 North Terrace on the iconic university promenade in the heart of the Adelaide CBD.
SYNERGY CONSTRUCT Project Manager Adam Brushe said achieving practical completion of Y Suites Waymouth Street comprehensively ahead of schedule was a testament to the project team, consultants and subcontractor teams involved in the build.
The Y Suites construction team worked tirelessly right through from procurement stage, to make sure we had a level of comfort and risk mitigation in place, to achieve the aggressive construction program.
Y Suites is an outstanding student accommodation building that I’m pleased we could help open in time for the 2021 university year, to provide accommodation to many people that contribute to the vibrancy of the city of Adelaide.
