We are thrilled to announce that two SYNERGY CONSTRUCT project leaders have been recognised at the SA 2021 Australian Institute of Building Awards, held last week.
SYNERGY CONSTRUCT’s Denis Clignon has been named joint Building Professional of the Year, at the 2021 SA Australian Institute of Building (AIB) Awards.
Denis was recognised for professional excellence in the management of the 14-storey Toms Court project, a build which has since gone on to play a major role in South Australia’s COVID-response effort.
The Toms Court build also won the AIB Awards category for Commercial Construction $2M – $25M.
The project was assessed based on criteria including the degree of project difficulty, management techniques, innovation, relationships with client, community and work force, and the quality of the completed project.
The Toms Court project was located on an extremely tight, 250m2 site with narrow laneway access, which presented the project team with the challenge to create and manage a functional, practical and community friendly logistical plan to service the construction phase of the project.
Significant research and traffic management planning was undertaken to minimise community impact and included the modification of the Halifax Street median strip to allow heavy reticulated vehicles to manoeuvre and deliver large structural elements into the Toms Court loading dock.
The AIB Awards also recognised SYNERGY CONSTRUCT Project Manager Adam Brushe with a High Commendation for his work on the Y Suites Waymouth Street project.
Y Suites is the largest student accommodation complex in South Australia, located in the heart of the city and offering 813 beds. The 17-storey building achieved practical completion an impressive 2.5 months ahead of contract program.
Founder and Operations Director Craig Weaver congratulated Denis and Adam on their achievements along with the broader SYNERGY CONSTRUCT team, subcontractors and partners for contributing to the success of the Toms Court and Y Suites projects.
We are all extremely proud of Denis, Adam and the highly talented project teams who supported them. These accolades are not only significant individual achievements for Denis and Adam, but also recognition of the tireless efforts of everyone at SYNERGY CONSTRUCT who contributed to the success of these projects.
Over the past eight years, SYNERGY CONSTRUCT has been instrumental in the completion of seven high-rise commercial construction projects, with a further two projects currently under construction.
