Y Suites Waymouth Street

Right in the heart of the city, the building responds to the existing environment and lends itself to Adelaide’s vision of innovation whilst blending seamlessly with the present heritage.

Standing at 55.4 metres in height, the deceptively unimposing superstructure is comprised of load-bearing precast panels combined with Bubbledeck in-situ concrete core, suspended slabs on columns, which together support the building’s overall structural integrity. A high level of focus was applied to the design and procurement of the facade glazing to ensure windows could be preinstalled within the structural facade precast panels off site.

SYNERGY CONSTRUCT achieved practical completion of the building an impressive 2.5 months ahead of contract program.

SYNERGY CONSTRUCT was awarded a high commendation in the South Australian 2021 AIB Professional Excellence in Building Awards – Commercial Construction – $60 million plus category for the work completed on Y Suites project.

This procurement strategy was a critical element of ensuring a level of comfort and risk mitigation was provided to enable the aggressive construction program to be achieved. The ground floor shopfront glazing has been designed to complement the exposed high set ceilings at the same time as providing exclusive aesthetics from the Waymouth streetscape.
